The ABT management team provide knowledge and experience from a variety of business backgrounds. They are supported by highly skilled trainers and technical assistants specially trained in delivering the ABT teaching methodology.

Professor Alastair Nicholson - Training Development Director
Following
employment with IBM and the Atomic Energy Authority, Professor Nicholson joined
the London Business School in 1970, becoming Professor of Operations Management
in 1974. Since then he has worked jointly in education and with businesses
on the management of operational systems. Professor Nicholson's principal
interests lie in the matching of the management processes to the issues of
profitability and operational effectiveness. His work in this field has been
developed with a wide variety of companies. At the London Business School,
Professor Nicholson teaches on all programmes, executive and MBA. His research
is into the appropriate fit between managerial responsibilities and systems
on the one hand and the business-operations context on the other.
John Schirn - Technical Director
Coming
from an engineering background John Schirn spent five years developing Shop-floor
Control and Management Information Systems for a variety of industries. This
was followed with research at the University of Oxford as a member of the
Information Engineering Manufacturing Systems Group. There he studied the
impact of flexibility and uncertainty on scheduling, investigating the use
of complexity metrics using simulation and case-study approaches. He has been
developing interactive training exercises with Professor Nicholson over several
years and his current interests include performance measurement and the interaction
of business processes with information systems.
Mike de Horsey - Course Management Director
Since
studying engineering at Liverpool University Mike de Horsey has been working
in information systems development. Over the past five years he has assisted
Professor Nicholson with the development of interactive training exercises
and has delivered training sessions on many occasions in both England and
Europe.
